ABOUT MPIRE
Established in 2009, MPIRE Books of Crewe is a successful publishing house with many of its local projects already on the bookshelves around Cheshire.
Mark Potts and Tony Marks have published several titles about the Crewe & Nantwich fallen, with stories, photos and service records bringing to life books about WW1, WW2 and, in late 2009, the Boer War. When Crewe's Britannia Memorial was moved from Market Square to Municipal Square in 2006, they led a team of researchers who ensured that the new plaques were extensively and correctly updated. In early 2009, they also produced a stunning record of the Crewe Kings speedway club, entitled When They Were Kings, detailing the six successful years at the Earle Street track.
Jules Hornbrook has contributed material to websites, magazines and newspapers since 1994. His first published book, The Gradi Years, told the tale of Crewe Alexandra FC's rise under manager Dario Gradi. More recently he completed Crewe and its People, a collection of 40 stories about those who live, work and play in the town. He is currently compiling volume 2 of the same title.
As a collective, they set out to assist budding authors achieve their dream of publication.
Based in Crewe, they will be happy to discuss any potential projects in and around the Cheshire area.
